Meetings

Our meetings are fun, interactive and educational. A place to gather to hear from geologists, college professors and our very own rockhounds who have stories and treasures to share.

So much is learned at our meetings! Please come! We welcome new visitors who become lifelong friends!

Our monthly meetings are open to the public, but we encourage you to join the club in order to receive additional benefits including field trips, our monthly newsletter, our Annual Rock & Mineral show,  our Annual Holiday Party and mineral auction.

Guest Speaker: Doug Francisco
Presentation: Mining at Sterling Hill


Doug Francisco worked as a miner for the New Jersey Zinc Company at the Sterling Hill mine in Ogdensburg NJ up until the mine closed in 1986. Doug is currently retired, but is a Trustee on the board of the Sterling Hill Mining Museum. He still works part-time at the mine creating new exhibits as well as maintaining the current exhibits and facilities.
