Orange County Mineral Society, Inc.

A Non-Profit Organization Established in 1953 In Orange County, New York

Welcome

The Orange County Mineral Society was established in 1953 in Orange County, New York as a not for profit organization. The objective of the Society is to promote the hobby and to further the interests in the earth sciences. Our Goal is to promote interest and education in geology, mineralogy, paleontology, archaeology and lapidary. We are a mineral club whose main focus is on Orange County, New York and the surrounding areas. We want to share our knowledge and teach people about the history of the mines and mineralogy of Orange County. We also collect minerals and fossils  in other various places throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

We are members of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies (AFMS), and the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies (EFMLS).
